Let’s Start Off With A Formal Introduction
My name is Mishelle Ortiz-Velez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with over nine years of clinical experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I received my Ph.D. in Family Therapy, from Nova Southeastern University, and I’m passionate about using my continued education and experience to empower my clients through the difficulties they face.
I have extensive experience working with trauma, grief, and loss, suicide, domestic violence, and co-occurring disorders. Throughout my work I have discovered I have a burning passion and unique talent for helping individuals challenge their limiting beliefs and become the best versions of themselves. I understand that life is not something we are meant to survive but where we are meant to thrive and I’ve found my purpose in helping others make that transition.
My passion for helping others is matched only by my passion for travel. The thrill and anticipation that comes from boarding a flight gives me a sense of enjoyment that reinvigorates my desire to spread joy and amplifies the passion I have for my work. If you feel you are ready to find the real joy that comes when we move from just surviving to thriving, please reach out and allow me to take that first step with you.
My Mission
As a therapist, life coach, and supervisor of therapeutic interns, I am committed to developing a respectful and trustworthy relationship with those I work with. I aim to use my skills and knowledge to help others identify and challenge their limiting beliefs and become the best versions of themselves.
My Vision
A world where everyone has access to the necessary resources and support to be able to experience the joys of self-actualization, healthy familial relationships, and personal well-being.
